Road entry to Masai Mara is via Narok town, a 3 hours drive from Nairobi. You may wish to fly to the Mara, which is serviced by 4 man airstrips. Daily regular flights from Nairobi and Mombasa are readily available. Private Charters also use these airstrips. Getting to the Mara area is challenging without private transport.
Masai Mara Safari:
Most travellers visit Masai Mara on a safari package from Nairobi or in a rented car. The park has very well set up internal roads and tracks. Getting to areas outside the reserve is only possible using general public transportation, and finding the right path around can be tough.
